The competition will focus on enabling technology in five areas:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Storage and transportation
  • Demand management
  • Other smart grid

As a company attending the event, CEVS will place you in a position to share your ideas and innovations with those who already make an impact in the clean energy space. In addition to valuable time with investors and experts, Companies at CEVS receive:

  • Valuable time with non-private investors and industry experts
  • Publicity on the Clean Energy Venture Summit website
  • The chance to compete in your focus area for in-kind prizes
  • Optional coaching on how to pitch your innovation at The Summit
  • Feedback from experts in clean energy, smart grid and related technology spaces
  • The chance to speak with Pecan Street Project organizers and Austin Energy
  • The chance to test your innovation on ERCOT, the Texas Grid
  • Chance to interact with utilities with demonstration projects on the table
  • Opportunity to interact with corporate partners, such as Dell, Oracle, and IBM, who are committed to the smart grid space

Judges will evaluate companies in the earlier stages of fundraising, from seed capital through Series B. The Summit is a powerful opportunity to meet people who can help your company succeed. The grand prize includes a full range of in-kind services. All top five finalists will receive the opportunity for an interview with Austin Energy and Brewster McCracken of the Pecan Street Project.
